Drafts for a Difference
On the first Wednesday of each month, Athens Sunrise Rotary, organizes a community happy hour that benefits a worthy cause at the Pigskin Bar and Grille. This generous local establishment donates $1 for each beer sold. Athens Sunrise Rotary will also match each donation – so that means for each beer purchased – $2 will go to the charity of the month!
2023/2024 Charity Partners include: Friends of the Shelter Dogs, Bringing Up Babies with Books Program, Polio Plus, Athens County Community Singers, Athens Photo Project, Bailey’s Trail System, League of Women Votes, Safe Swim for All, Appalachian Children Coalition, Athens CASA/GAL Program, Alexander Inclusive Playground Project. Paddle for Polio Plus
Join Athens Sunrise Rotary for the 8th Annual Paddle for Polio Plus. This family-friendly,all-are-welcome event will feature an easy paddle around beautiful Lake Snowden followed by friendly gathering with free food, games and prizes. This event supports Rotary International’s Polio Plus fund to eradicate poliovirus from the pla
net. Donations from the event are triple matched by the Gates Foundation. For each registered boater, 8 children will be vaccinated against polio.
Kids 12 and under participate for free along with a paid adult participant. Adult registration is $25 and youth ages 13 to 17 can participate for just $10. Paddlers of all skill levels and experience are welcome.
